Anyone can buy a bunch of gear and leave it somewhere to collect dust. What gives you results is coaching and camaraderie.

Anyone can come along the first time for free and we'll teach you to squat, press and deadlift, and let you know what the next few months of training would look like.

The properly-performed deadlift is, in some ways, the most useful lift for everyday life, since generally if you encounter something heavy you'll have to lift it off the floor and stand up with it. It won't be a convenient barbell shape but if you can lift a big weight on a barbell you c...

Water is necessary to life. People have survived weeks and even months without food, but perish without water in a few days. It aids digestion and many other functions of the body.

The recommendation for water consumption for men is 2.6 and women 2.1lt a day; it’s proportional to bodyweight. How...

Train movements, and the muscles will follow.

People like to speak of “muscle activation”. Physiotherapists make entire careers from diagnosing people with particular “sleepy” muscles and coming up with exercises to wake them up. Personal trainers with aspirations t...

The basic physical qualities are strength, endurance and mobility. Ideally we train all three, but this leads to long workouts. Could it be that if we train one it’ll help the others?

Maybe you should get bigger. Be awesome, not humble. Be strong, not weak. Be loud, not silent. Be more, not less.

A friend of mine works in HR, and she tells me that one of the reasons women in professional jobs earn less than men is because they ask for less. If ...

Athletic Club is great gym if you’re looking to elevate your training and learn the core fundamentals in strength. Over the last 6 months I have been educated not only in my training (reps, cues, progressive overload and journaling) but a history class on your everyday world topics. I know I’ll be informed in my sessions with Kyle! Looking forward to smashing more PBs!

Really great atmosphere. Kyle has a lot experience backing up his training plans. This is a great place for people who have little to no experience lifting I went from struggling to squat the 20kg empty bar to squatting 80kg in under 3 months. The trainer, Kyle, and the other members are very accepting and encouraging and really let me feel comfortable in the gym. As I whole my quality of life has improved a lot and highly recommend this gym!! -Kris

I trained with Kyle for a full year and gained both strength and discipline. Prior to this, I was a gym junkie and thought I had a lot of experience and knowledge, although I was still lacking in the strength department. You can read as much as you wish, but you need a proper coach to fix your technique if you want to make any progress. And that's exactly what Kyle is, a proper coach. He won't hold your hand while you do some silly stuff and sweat a bit. He will teach you the correct technique and then patiently work with you while you gain tons of strength, muscle and confidence. If you are tired of going to the gym and not getting results, go to Kyle and learn what training really is.
