You don't need motivation, you need habits.

Consistent effort over time gets results. What does it mean to be consistent? It means that working out is a habit. I don't need motivation for a habit. I don't need to psych myself up to put my pants on in the morning, to drive to work, to brush my t...

Summer's the time for being out in the sunshine doing the quick lifts and working on your endurance.

Pat's just been doing the quick lifts for a couple of months, but the strength he'd already built gave him a good base.

We're available to help you build the base, starting January.

Cass deadlifts 110kg. Her most recent programme hasn't had any deadlifting at all, and she just squatted heavy once a week while going through a busy period at work.

At ACE, we give you progress while you still have a life outside the gym.

Success in training comes from good coaching and good community. It's enough to have one person guiding you, but you need a lot of people encouraging you. And sometimes their encouragement is just having a laugh about stuff.

I leave it to others to judge whether I'm a good trainer. B...

A week or two back, Pat and Curtis went up Keilor way to do a novice meet.

Pat squatted 160, benched 100 and deadlifted 180kg, and Curtis 170/95/170.

Openers are always the last successful set of 5 in the lead-up to the meet, or "two with the flu" - a lift the person can make easily, to overco...

I've had an excellent experience at Athletic Club East. Kyle is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and provides great guidance. The gym exudes a positive atmosphere, and the supportive community here is truly uplifting. I appreciate the encouragement and valuable advice from both Kyle and fellow members. It's a fantastic place for strength training with a friendly and supportive vibe. Highly recommended!

Really great atmosphere. Kyle has a lot experience backing up his training plans. This is a great place for people who have little to no experience lifting I went from struggling to squat the 20kg empty bar to squatting 80kg in under 3 months. The trainer, Kyle, and the other members are very accepting and encouraging and really let me feel comfortable in the gym. As I whole my quality of life has improved a lot and highly recommend this gym!! -Kris

Athletic Club is great gym if you’re looking to elevate your training and learn the core fundamentals in strength. Over the last 6 months I have been educated not only in my training (reps, cues, progressive overload and journaling) but a history class on your everyday world topics. I know I’ll be informed in my sessions with Kyle! Looking forward to smashing more PBs!

The way we do things

We offer strength training for health and everyday life, using the principles of the Starting Strength method for all ages and abilities. We've had people from 18 to 84yo, people who could squat 165kg on day one and people who couldn't squat the empty bar. They all got better and stronger.

We do individualised training in a small group setting, with up to 6 people in each session. Once signed up at $720 for three months, you come as often as you like to booked sessions.

Anyone can come once for free and learn to squat, press and deadlift, meet the crew and see what they think.
